Why Families Choose our Postpartum & Overnight Care

Those early weeks aren’t just about caring for your baby, they’re about caring for you, too.

Our goal is to nurture and support parents so they can heal, recharge and truly enjoy those first moments of connection with their newborn.

Our Sunhouse specialists are trained not only in newborn care (feeding, soothing and overnight support) but also in understanding sleep patterns and development of newborns through training developed in partnership with our team at Plume Sleep.

This means your family is supported in two ways:

1. In the moment, through restorative rest and compassionate care that lets you truly sleep.
2. Long term, through healthy sleep foundations that set your baby and your family up for sustainable success.

We do not sleep train at this age.

It’s about creating space for recovery today while laying the groundwork for restful nights in the months ahead.

The 3-Day Sleep Reset

Developed collaboratively by Plume Sleep and Sunhouse, this three-night in-home program is designed to support postpartum recovery through the science-backed benefits of consolidated sleep. During the early weeks, even short stretches of uninterrupted rest can have measurable impact on physical healing, emotional regulation and overall wellbeing.

Our trained overnight specialists provide comprehensive newborn care, so you can focus on healing, restorative rest and rebuilding your strength. They will also provide you with daytime strategies to encourage balanced naps, feeds and routines. Just three nights can make a measurable difference in your mood, clarity and recovery. This is a restorative in-home experience that helps new families seeking immediate rest and a better understanding of their baby’s natural rhythms.

Evidence Based Rest for New Parents

Improves Mood and Cognitive Function
Even a single stretch of 4–5 hours of uninterrupted sleep can positively affect neurotransmitter balance, improving mood, emotional regulation, and mental clarity within days. Rest allows you to feel calm, centered, and capable again.

Promotes Physical Recovery
Deep, consolidated rest supports tissue repair, hormonal stabilization, and overall energy restoration, key elements of postpartum recovery. Prioritizing your sleep is an essential step in healing both body and mind.

Supports Lactation and Bonding
Adequate sleep promotes optimal hormone regulation, which can enhance milk supply and strengthen emotional connection between parent and baby. When parents are rested, they’re better able to respond sensitively and enjoy those early bonding moments.

      Frequently Asked Questions

      Learn More About Sleep Training

      What is sleep training?

Sleep training is the process in which you support your child to develop independent sleep skills as you shift away from sleep associations. With the development of these skills, you will find better sleep for your child and you.

Are your services covered by extended health benefits?

As a Registered Nurse, my services for sleep training may be covered by your health benefits plan. You may have coverage under a health spending account or Registered Nursing Services. Be sure to check with your provider for more information and coordinate reimbursement.

      Will my child cry?

Likely. Crying is your baby/child’s way of communicating with you. They cry for a multitude of reasons (frustrated, too hot, too cold, bored, overstimulated, tired, hungry…etc.). Changes to their routine and expectations around sleep will be new for them, and they will communicate their confusion/frustration to you. Research has shown, crying will not harm your baby or your attachment.

I will never ask you to leave your child to cry it out alone. My goal is to work with your family with your comfort level in mind. I want to minimize those tears with the fastest forward momentum. If we need to take things slower, that is okay too!

When is the best time to sleep train?

This will depend on you and your family! Typically most children are developmentally ready to start learning independent sleep skills around 4 months of age. Some a bit earlier and some a bit later. With that said, laying a foundation for and shaping healthy sleep can start right from day 1!
